4 Easy claim & refund options with MediPet.
Here’s how to do it:
- Submit Your Claim Form Online
- Direct Vet Payment

Visit MediPet’s claims page to submit your claim online: claims.medipet.co.za
Provide all the details & as much information as possible. (Your vet does not need to fill out the claim form)
Upload clear & legible invoices, & any other supporting documents.
Click submit & check your email for your claim submission confirmation.
Claims are processed within 7–10 working days.
Complete all the steps in option 1.
Don’t forget to select the “Please make payment of this claim refund directly to my vet” box on the online claim form.
We will require a detailed cost estimate.
Send this to pre-approvals@medipet.co.za
We may request a history from your vet or any other vet that may have treated your pet.
This pre-approval process may take up to 48 hours (if required over a weekend, it will take longer), & will be granted in writing.
Follow the steps in option 3 for a pre-approval.
Once approved, we will log the claim, mark it as urgent, & the payment will be processed within 4 working days.
The payment, less the excess will be made directly to your vet, not you (the member).
You will need to pay the vet the applicable excess directly.
After the procedure, you or your vet will need to submit the final invoice to pre-approvals@medipet.co.za
We will compare the final costs with the initial pre-approved payment & make any necessary adjustments.
If adjustments are required, we will either request a refund from your vet, or the insurer will process an additional payment, if needed.

- We strive to refund claims within an average of 7 – 10 working days after receiving your completed submission.
- If any part of your claim form is incomplete or illegible, &/or there are missing supporting documents, we will need to contact you, & this may cause delays.
- It is important that you let us know immediately if your banking details have changed from those you have given us, before we refund your claim.
- All claims must be submitted to us within 60 days of the treatment date on the invoice in order to be processed.
